A Historic Whale Season

Whale season is well underway in South Africa! In an article recently published by National Geographic, researchers have counted over 30 000 individual humpback whales since the start of whale season at the beginning of July 2019.

40 years since the ban, humpback whales have made a splashing return along South Africa’s and Mozambique’s Indian Ocean coastline this season.
