Xobega Island Camp Closure
Xobega Island Camp has lost access to Mboma Boat Station and use of a boat. This has resulted in not being able to offer guests mokoro rides as part of the activities on offer, in addition to accessing the camp from Xakanaxa Boat Station which is 1.5 hours – 2 hours away from the camp. It has therefore been decided to close Xobega Island Camp and offer a better overall Okavango Delta experience at Xaxaba Mobile Camp (pictured above). The main area of the camp has a lounge/bar are under canvas, and separate safari dining area also under a canvas bedouin style stretch tent.
In terms of activities, you can enjoy walking safaris, mokoro excursions and sundowner sessions on the waterways. This is the perfect place for an intimate crowd that favours an authentic safari experience where the focus is on game viewing, activities and staying in a remote location.
